Family History Consultant's Guide Now Available

The following is from FamilySearch Support.

A new guide for family history consultants, Family History Consultant’s Guide to Temple and Family History Work, is now available as a downloadable .pdf file. (You will need the Adobe Reader to view the document. To download the reader, click here.)

The Family History Consultant’s Guide will help family history consultants:
  • Understand their role and responsibilities.
  • Prepare to serve.
  • Know where they can obtain help.
  • Assist members to do temple and family history work.
  • Identify additional resources that can help them.
The Family History Consultant’s Guide discusses the new.FamilySearch.org as a resource for consultants and members in doing temple and family history work. Although all consultants do not yet have access to the new FamilySearch, the guide contains information that is helpful for all consultants.

Please note: The Family History Consultant’s Guide mentions two new resources that are not yet available: Instructor’s Guide to Temple and Family History Work and Temple and Family History Course DVD. Please do not contact Distribution Services or Church headquarters to try to order these resources yet. You will be informed when these new resources are available.

To access the Family History Consultant’s Guide, click here. If clicking the link does not work, you may type or copy and paste the following into your Internet browser’s address bar:

Renee,

You mention that the consultant's guide and the DVD are not yet available from the Distribution Center but you do not mention anything about the new Member's Guide. There are many of us out here as Family History Consultants trying to teach the New Family Search stuff but are limited because we are stuck with the old Member Guide. Is the new Member Guide available? I cannot get the number to pull up on LDScatalog.org.

If it is not yet available do you know when it will be? Do we have to suffer through another whole year or two before they issue it? I hope they are not waiting for everyone to be rolled out for New Family Search before they issue it. That would not be sensible and would penalize our efforts to get our Stake up to speed on the new version.

Sorry. I just read the blog before this one on the Member's Guide.

However, I would still like to know if you have any info on when the printed versions will be available. They are going to make us wait until full roll-out, are they?

It still isn't available through distribution nor is the Instructor's guide. I haven't found a place to download the Instructor's Guide.
