Description: Male ancestors weren’t the only ones who had secrets, or got caught behaving badly. Whether we like it or not, the black sheep of our family may have been the women, and they leave fabulous records! Through sample case studies, this session will show how to use court, census, newspaper, and other key records, and study social history to explore the law breakers, vigilantes, and other scandalous female ancestors. Lisa A. Alzo, M.F.A., is a freelance writer, instructor, and internationally recognized lecturer, specializing in Slovak/Eastern European genealogical research, writing your family history, and using the Internet to trace female and immigrant ancestors. She is the author of nine books and numerous magazine articles.
